Jane Mallory Birkin, (born 14 December 1946) is an English-born actress and singer who rose to fame during the late 1960′s, with help from former husband singer song-writer Serge Gainsbourg. She’s spent most of her life in France. In recent years she has written her own album, directed a film and become an outspoken proponent of democracy in Burma.
